We are a group of local Christians of all ages from across Thanet who meet together every week to worship God. We welcome people from Broadstairs, Margate, Ramsgate and the surrounding area. Each service centres on hearing the Bible explained in a clear and relevant way.
We are a Bible-centred church who believe that the Bible’s message is true, relevant and necessary for today and a summary of what we believe as a church is available for you to view here. We are a member of the Association of Grace Baptist Churches South East (AGBCSE) and we seek to share fellowship with other like-minded churches. We support a range of Christian organisations and these can be seen on our Links page.
Grace Baptist Church is made up of many people who give their time to serve in the church in a wide range of ways and is lead by a team of Elders.
We would love to welcome you each Sunday at 10.45am and 6pm each week. Our services are open to anyone, whatever your background or beliefs. We have a number of children in our services so don’t worry that they might make some noise. We are used to it. Our Sunday services are held at the Portland Centre.
We also run a number of activities including a weekly Bible study and activities for teenagers and children. Further details can be found here. Please also contact us if you have any questions.
Our church was first founded over 100 years ago, when a number of people from the local area began to meet together. For many years the church met in a building in Ethelbert Road, Margate. In 2008, due to the need for major renovation, the decision was taken by the church to sell the building. We met in St Peter-in-Thanet CE Junior School, Broadstairs, prior to the Covid pandemic. Our current venue is the Portland Centre in St Peter’s.
